Deborah Mahon has an attitude. An attitude against people of color that is. After a black woman inside the story calls Deborah ignorant, Deborah responds with: "A N***** is calling me ignorant?" What I see is a woman who sees the mountains and the fresh open arid air of the midwest as belonging to a people who once breathed the adventures of a new beginning in American soil. I am not talking about native people here. I am talking about who she believes to be her ancestors. Either way, call her a Trumpduville belieber, or a simpleton racist without backbone, she does try to pull off a colorful dike outfit even for Walmart standards.
She dresses as if she's heading out to take a shit, deliver a new shark pool skimmer to her pool cleaning associate, and meet with the girls for softball practice. Yet, I doubt a racist is that mobile. I hope she's not an alcoholic, I see it in her that she might be. She can use the help.

I find it interesting that the writer's criticism of this woman's heinous bigotry includes his own intolerance by using a derogatory term for a lesbian while using that lifestyle as an insult to the racist, then proceeding to generalize the bigot with characteristics not specifically related to a hateful person, furthering the downward spiraling of a closed minded society that can't simply stop pigeonholing people as specific groups of like negative characteristics. I guess like human beings, bigots comes in all colors, too.
