An electric car developed during several years of research by Colombian engineers will compete side by side with the big manufacturers of the sector from 2020.
The first model of the Colombian electric vehicle brand 'Eolo', named for its operation with a wind system, was presented last year by a team of experts led by the mechanical engineer, Javier Roldán.
The second prototype of this vehicle, which can be charged with the power of a common receptacle of a residential home, will power its engines and start circulating in the streets in just a few months.
In an interview with Dinero Javier Roldán said that although Eolo is not yet in its commercial phase, it is expected that by the end of 2018 or early 2019, the units will begin to sell.
Eolo will have a range of 130 kilometers, to realize this path will be possible after a charge of the battery during a night in a 110 volt outlet. Although the power is 220 volts the load will only take about four hours
Another outstanding feature of this car is that it is equipped with a turbine in the front, which cuts and takes advantage of the wind. Thanks to this novel system the electric charge stored in the battery yields an additional 10% compared to other similar models that are sold in the world. Likewise, the wind system of this Colombian car stands out for being of double turbine, which gives a greater power. In fact, thanks to this feature, the developers of this innovation obtained a worldwide patent in 2012.

I like the turbine idea! Its crazy to think the first electric cars were made in the early 1800s.
