The Bithumb bitcoins exchange, located in South Korea and fourth largest of its kind in the world, was the target of a hacker attack that exposed data from its 30,000 customers, and caused a financial loss in the billions. The attacks also included phone scams with some Bithumb clients claiming to have been contacted by some alleged bank employee in order to obtain personal information.
