That's the real problem, people are trying to get rich in a week with no investment at all. Steemit is not promising thousands of dollars because of posting or commenting or upvoting (you can? Sure but its not the average) all Steemit is doing is monetizing something that people used to do for free.
Getting paid 30 cents or so for something that you used to do for free in Blogger or Facebook, it adds up. But if you invest a lot in STEEM POWER or start a witness campaign to run a node, great, you can make good money out of it but you have to give something back to the community.
I think people are misunderstanding the purpose of this platform, if you want to make good money out of nothing, just be patient, grow a network, and provide good content that adds value to the platform, then you're going to see the bucks coming.
