Google launched its own local social network for neighbors "Neighborly"
In "Neighborly", you can ask local residents about the safety of nearby parks or ask for advice.
Social network allows you to ask neighbors questions and respond to others: for example, where there is a nearby service for repairing bicycles or which park in the district is the safest for children. It also offers to ask questions on the forms "Where can I find ...", "Who is the best ...", "Can you recommend me ...".
The application allows you not to share personal information with others: it shows users only names without other personal information. However, the user profile photo can not be enlarged or saved. When registering, the service asks users not to spam and not post non-compliant messages.
While the service is available only to the residents of Mumbai in India. Neighborly allows you to ask questions aloud, using local dialects.
Users can evaluate the responses of their neighbors, high-grade answers are published higher in the response tape. Like in Facebook, questions and answers can be added to bookmarks to read later.
This application once helped the passenger of the suburban train, notes Bloomberg. He saw a wounded man and asked how to help him: the users answered who can ask for help and on what phone numbers they need to call. As a result, the victim received medical help.
Google began testing the service in Mumbai in May 2018, soon the company plans to deploy it in other cities of the country.
