As CNBC notes referring to the calculations of analysts, since the announcement of new products on September 12, Apple lost more than $ 50 billion in market capitalization. Now this figure is $ 784.5 billion, although before the presentation it was $ 834.5. The lost amount is more than the cost of companies such as eBay, Target or Ford Motor.
At the same time, CNBC pay attention to the fact that Apple shares, despite a significant decrease in value, are still 30% more expensive than exactly a year ago.
As possible reasons for the fall in the value of Apple's shares, observers indicate insufficiently high demand for new smartphones and low current sales level.
Analysts also point out that Apple is making the main bet on the model of the iPhone X, but this is a very risky bet. As analysts from Seeking Alpha note, most expect the model of the iPhone X and with low production volumes its deficit is inevitable and few believe that Apple will be able to meet the demand in full to the Christmas holidays. Accordingly, sales will be noticeably below the expected level.
