Greetings reggaemuffins and steemians! Early morning musings! Every morning bright and early I head out to do the daily trek to and from work. Today, there are reports coming in from Jamaica that there was a magnitude 7.7 earthquake.

The epicenter is said to have been in Lucea, in the beautiful parish of Hanover. Later this week, I will give you more details about earthquakes in Jamaica. They are rare but there have been some notable ones in history.
So far , there has been no reports of loss of life or any significant damage to property. We hope and pray that it remains that way. Please tell us if you felt it and what things are like in your neck of the woods.
On my morning muse , I had to ask “A wah dis?” , what is really going on in January. As Bob Marley said , “So much trouble in the world.” We on the on the east are quite concerned about Corona. It’s not a she or he. By now , you should have heard of it- the disease that has affected so many in China, has been reported in Japan and other areas in this region. Not to spread panic but one of the side effects of globalization is the rapid spread of diseases. People are hopping across the globe and everything good and bad is spreading. Let’s take precautions. Where ever you are on the globe - stay safe and walk good. I leave you with one of my favorite pieces from the man himself Bob Marley.

Glad to know everyone is safe and sound. A 7.7 earthquake is some serious shaking.
Yeah man ,I’m seeing pictures abd videos from The Cayman Islands. Huge craters created as a result of the shaking. Still on the lookout fir things from Jamaica. Family abd friends are safe - that is good news.

Update: The epicenter was thankfully in the sea north of Lucea. We give thanks. People are reporting that the shaking lasted for a while. That’s what you don’t need - long earthquakes. I still remember the 2011 earthquake in Japan. The longest one I ever felt- people are still trying to recover from it’s effects. Live life to the fullest. We march on. Peace and love
