Steemit - Where do you get your news?

in #news9 years ago

I personally enjoy 'The Guardian', 'The Economist', and 'NPR', but I must confess that occasionally I am guilty of going down the clickbait rabbit hole when it comes to 'The Huffington Post'.

Where else would I find out that Sheman Moore has challenged web trolls accusing him of being gay to send their girlfriends over to his house?

^^^ This is super important stuff! ^^^

Anyway - I am curious to hear where my fellow Steemians seek out their news.

Where does your source lie on the spectrum?

Sort:

I get my news from Steemit. I just found out that @papa-pepper finally named his rabbits and that @busy.org has donation badges for donors to their project.

I am very well informed!

If it isn't happening on steem I don't care. Mainstream news is 99% propaganda.

That would be a good experiment.
You should lock yourself in a closet for 1 month and use Steemit as your only link to the outside world and then blog about it.
I'd upvote that post ;)

I mostly use the Guardian and BBC. Where is this chart from? I did a post yesterday about who we trust. I hear people saying we shouldn't trust any journalists and then they seem to get their news from random bloggers.

Hey @steevc,

The image is from an unknown source - found on imgur. It may very well be reputable, but the original source is easy to lose as people share things freely over the Internet.

I am not seeing this in my personal life, but there definitely appears to be a decent segment of the Steemit population that feels this way. I just don't get it really, since when is sitting in front of your computer Googling things to support your point of view and then writing about it journalism?

I am seeing that attitude here. There are some big players on Steemit I wouldn't trust for news ;)

NPR and BBC middle of the road. I don't think so. Really none of these

I like the imagery - I am going to create a version for Investing News - the axis will be more to do with Capitalism and Socialism and who owns the News Channel.

As an investor, I use investing news to work out what they are trying to get the herd to do - then I do the opposite.
