We have been continuously cautioned that we could be scammed, online as well as otherwise, during this period when the whole world is under lockdown. So it was rather unfortunate to learn that German authorities were among those scammed recently.
And that too in a big way! With millions of euros at stake.
Apparently one of the worst hit regions in Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia, had released 14.7 million euros to purchase face masks from an 'Asia' based company, and around 2.5 mil was paid as an advance.
But it looks like they were conned and the advance amount now looks to be in limbo as the company which offered the bids had none to sell!
Though unfortunate, it is an eye-opener to the lengths some people would go to take advantage of the situation and scam you.
So stay safe, be vigilant about the offers you get and just think over everything first.
