Crash course in journalism. Lesson number one: Buy a notebook.

in #news7 years ago (edited)

Journalism is dead. The profession of writing in a newspaper or for the television news services, one-to-many mediums that had complete control over what we knew, is a thing of the past, like lamp oil sellers and elevator boys.

But we can reinvent Journalism, right here on Steemit. We can start right now. If you are curious and care for the endangered species called, “the truth”, I can show you how, in few simple lessons. Then you can implement these lessons in your writing in Steemit, and I (and others), can give you some feedback.

Shell we begin?

Okay so lesson number 1: Buy a notebook.

No, not a laptop computer. I mean a notebook, you know, that paper made thing you used in school. Buy one with a hardcover so that it will be comfortable to use while you are on the go. Oh, and you will need a pen too, and let's make a deal. For as long as this crash course goes on. You will always carry your notebook and pen with you.

That’s it. This is the first lesson. Go buy your notebook and then we will continue.

Disclaimer: Many thanks to Yael Gvirtz, the Israeli journalist who helped me find my writer's voice, and that much of this crash course is based on her teaching
