Jantho is the name of one of the district capitals in Aceh province, Aceh Besar District. This regency has been officially inaugurated its name and location through the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia number 36 of 1976. Thus, officially the capital of Aceh Besar District has moved from the city of Banda Aceh (into Kodya) to Jantho about 60 Km from Banda Aceh around the Seulawah mountain valley.
Through the government regulation number 36 that the city of Jantho officially became the location of the capital city of Aceh Besar prepared to navigate the history of its future with a million dreams and hopes, because all citizens of Aceh Besar at that time represents the city of Jantho as a symbol of the memories of the kingdom of Aceh where one of heroes (Cut Nyak Dhien) was born and raised here.
