The “Instagram” application is trying to lure content creators by providing significant sums of money in exchange for posting videos on the “Rails” feature, to compete with “Tik Tok”, which is witnessing great popularity around the world.
The Verge, citing "TechCrunch" and "Business Insider", stated that "Instagram" provides a sum of $35,000 for those whose videos have more than 58 million views.
In July, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company would pay $1 billion to creators through 2022.
It will also provide support for small content makers, as the police will allocate rewards ranging from 600 to a thousand dollars, according to Maddy Corbin, a content creator who has 52,000 followers on Instagram.
So far, "Instagram" has not announced clear rules on how to determine the amounts of rewards, especially since it is in its early stages.
In contrast, platforms such as YouTube and Snapchat provide content creators with amounts ranging from $10,000 to $25,000.
And the “YouTube” platform announced last May allocating $100 million in a fund called “YouTube Shorts”, to pay rewards to users of the “Shorts” platform, which competes with the applications of “Tik Tok”, “Snapchat” and “Instagram Rails”.
On the other hand, Tik Tok seems unfazed by the amount of money being put up by its competitors, as the company announced in late September that it had exceeded one billion monthly active users.
