Weekend Box Office of 'It' Breaks Many Records after $51 Million Dollar Friday!!!

The film adaptation of Stephen King's novel is already shattering records after 'landing the biggest opening ever for a horror movie or the month of September'

The movie we have all been seeing on Ads across the globe didn't fail to impress with its opening gross of $51,000,000 on the Friday and a weekend debut of >$100 million

It is shattering numerous records, including landing the biggest start ever for a horror film, not accounting for inflation. And it's the biggest opening ever for the month of September. The movie's Friday take alone was bigger than the previous September crown holder, Hotel Transylvania 2, which pulled in $48.5 million for the three days.
ThatHorror pics traditionally drop from Friday to Saturday, but It should prove the exception to the rule. The other wild card this weekend is Hurricane Irma, which could hurt overall revenue by as much as 5-6 percent. However, analysts don't expect the disruption to be significant since horror films generally under-index in Florida.

It has also gained the title for the biggest Friday ever for an R-rated film, smashing Deadpool's $47 million and its Thursday preview also grossed a record-breaking $15.3 million!

great very informative post like it and upvoted!

The original IT movie was partially filmed in New Westminster, BC, Canada, where I lived at the time. The Paramount in the movie still stands to this day!
