Create A Great Year - How To Start A Great 2018

in #newyear6 years ago

As we approach 2018, we often think about getting ourselves some New Year resolutions. We want to do something because others are. We know the Christmas meal (if you support Christmas celebrations), also known as stuffing your face or belly and getting merry gets us wanting to go on diets. We have things we have done, and not done. Presents, opportunities, and places we have wanted to go to but haven't.

Starting a great year begins with planning a great year.

Every year I mostly do a review of the year and then look at the next year.

Why most people fail in New Year resolutions is largely due to the small time frame they consider. Yes, holidays and vacations are planned months in advance but for most people, this planning is due to having to fit in with work that you want time off!

If you have a decade goal, you have a clearer understanding of what your goals should be. If you want to learn how to play the piano for example, you know that January as a month is not enough to learn all of playing the piano and mastering it. Instead you know this may take few years, and so your practice continues.

There are 3 elements in starting a great 2018:

  1. Reflection
  2. Celebration
  3. Start

1. Reflection:

Looking at the past is the beginning step. You need to look over the year, but what are you looking for? If you don't know what you want in the long term, you can't make progress. Yes, you can look emotionally and say it was a great year or a bad year or was ok, but to have some kind of understanding of the year from an achievers consideration, we have to know what that rope is that we hang on to, and guides our steps.

When we know what we want in life for the long term, then we can take hold of that rope and reflect correctly. Suddenly things are in perspective.

This reflection then also helps us take hold of the rope and know where to look going forward.

Having a well formed goal which is outside the scope of this article but can be found in my Follow Your Bliss - Your Map To Reality eBook, will enable you to naturally see all the parts need to consider.

2. Celebration:

You will either celebrate, i.e. put your self into a peak state for the year or you will start it on a low note by doing nothing. Though starting on a high note or a low note does not matter in the long term, unless you make it have a resounding effect on your year, the celebration is putting your self into the positive mental attitude for the year.

New Years Eve parties can be extremely fun, and more so than any other time of the year. Try to think how you can really celebrate. And what are you celebrating? Forget 2018! And start thinking my life! Think about your reflections and the things you have come up with that you want to do.

Now you are celebrating your ability to achieve your goals.

Enjoy your self, and Happy New Year!

3. Start:

If you really celebrated, you likely need a moment of rest from the hard partying and need for recouping if you been drinking! If you done this correctly, you may have still done nothing but done everything, and not celebrated but fully celebrated. Whichever blend of the 2 you done for new years, you ultimately find your self with a 2018. Oddly enough the concept of a new year is all in our own minds for it is just another day in the year, but this impetus of a new year which we all celebrate enables the magic to begin.

Our engines are rested, the days are getting longer. You have an entire year out in front of you!

Now you need to return to your reflection and see what you liked about 2017 and also consider what you came up with for the things you wanted to do. You need to do this before anything else!!!

If you want to design your 2018 and make it great, you have to begin right on your plan rather than on someone elses plan.

Look at your reflection. If you wanted to go for horse riding, then you might start looking at places that have horse riding centers.

If you want a new career, then look for jobs or courses.

Through this process, you will start forming in your mind the expectations of the year. When you do this, you will have more of a chance to start a great year.

Remember to reflect on the year and look forward. Remember to celebrate, and remember to start a great year!

Create a great year!,
