Jolted awake gasping for air and the thirst was a little unpleasant due to the dry stale air lingering in his cabin. Jack's vague recollection of his dream caught a glimpse of shadowy movement was adding to his throbbing neck ache. "How long was I asleep?", he murmured. The Alpha base Colony Automated Personnel Tracking Sentient (CAPTS) responded, "approximately 18 hours 32 minutes and 40 seconds".
Shocked and confused, Jack isn't sure was his dream real or fake. He can't vividly remember the last moments but something could have happened while he was securing the Landcrawlers' tracks and dragging his sluggish ass in a never ending torrential rain.
He asked CAPTS of his whereabouts before going 'offline' and the digital voice replied, "in your designated cabin row 6 unit 7". Disbelief, Jack rushed to a nearby console to search for any surveillance footage time stamped >= eighteen and half local hours ago. Hoping to validate CAPTS answer, and he was met with 'Access Denied' permission. Beep an incoming message for Jack Steel, "payment of 2000 CC transfer, completed". Colony Credit for short.

The local currency for exchange of food and energy consumption. Medical supplies, vitamins, hygiene and sanitation uses energy for replication except food and water. That's still old fashion hydroponics, robotics harvesting with artificial sunlight. Although Alpha planet has it's own sun, the light passing through the atmosphere doesn't seem to work for Earth version of crops. More research needed in this field. Thankfully water was readily available from this planet but energy is necessary for filtration and reverse osmosis.
