On today's blog post, I'll highlight just a few great WAX collections you should know about - and be playing!
Today, we have 6 collections that we asked the simple question: Why did you choose WAX? And then, what can players expect when they join your game? Here’s their answers! Hopefully it inspires you to try something new!
NFTdraft - First NFT Based Fantasy Football by Onboard Games
Onboard Games chose WAX because of the community they have. Not to mention, WAX has been, and remains, the greatest gathering of NFT gamers. Of the blockchains available to us, WAX is the best option because it has the most benefits. These benefits include being gasless, instant, and eco-friendly. They are also the only chain that can handle complex gaming. We will continue to build on WAX with ambitions of bringing traditional games to Web 3.0. There is no better chain and no better community for it!
NFTdraft is fantasy football using NFTs. We are the first to do this, and we have the greatest design. Users can enter Fantasy Football tournaments for free all season long. All it takes to play is for the user to create a team. Week one’s prize pool is $10,000! Users can also make money as traders with NFTdraft cards. These cards are synced with real-world athletes. Card value fluctuates wildly week to week based on performance, injuries, trades, and depth chart moves. Savvy traders purchase specific cards to benefit from predictable trends. The cards can be blended to increase rarity and certain collections (i.e. a full deck) can be “checked” to receive rewards. This includes entries into exclusive tournaments!

Cosmic Clash by FGL Gaming
Through contacts in the game industry, we were already familiar with WAX. We knew about their focus on games, their dedication, and their excellent support. While exploring the WAX toolset we really liked how the team is focusing on the player experience and for example how easy it is to set up a wallet. WAX’s carbon neutrality is one of the factors that pulled us over the line. The fact that gas fees are basically non-existent allows us for a long more game design creativity.
Coming from a game publishing background, we were thinking big straight out the gate. Our first game launch was Cosmic Clash, a strategic space auto-battler where your fleet management is key to success and winning WAX & NFT prizes. Our 2nd game Mecha World is currently in Alpha launch. It's a post-apocalyptic game where you build, customize, quest and battle with Mecha animals. Following the release of these two games, we have several more new releases planned which will all hook into the economy of the FGL token.

Castles NFT by Metasource Games
When Metasource Games started looking for a blockchain to develop Castles, they didn’t know where to start! So many options that all claimed to be the best, but how to really decide? As we started really digging, the choice became much clearer: not all blockchains are developed equally! WAX had the tools, the ease of use, and the carbon neutrality that we were looking for! A huge bonus that we didn’t even realize right away was how easily mobile gaming could be integrated with WAX’s cloud wallet, an extremely rare and helpful thing in Web3 today. Add that all together and there never was much of a choice at all.
In Castles, players drive the economy by generating and merging lands! Build up your Kingdom in a variety of ways, merging NFTs, converting tokens into ingredients through crafters, and taking part in our limited time events where new NFTs are created using in-game resources! As a totally on-chain game, Castles doesn’t hold any of your assets, they are in your wallet at all times ready to be used, traded, or sold - player ownership is one of our strongest tenets. Farming Tales
When we chose the best blockchain to host Farming Tales, we had no doubts: we were looking for an infrastructure with high performance and able to guarantee our users a friendly experience. The high transactions per minute, the low cost for users, and the ease of access thanks to the Cloud Wallet were decisive elements in our choice. Farming Tales has also always had as its main goal to create an agricultural metaverse connected with the real world, and for this reason we were looking for an eco-friendly blockchain; the carbon neutrality of the WAX blockchain chain is definitely one of the elements that interested us from the beginning.
As mentioned, Farming Tales is an agricultural metaverse, where users can build and grow their own farm and, with some special NFTs, can manage to "grow'' real agricultural products from real Farming Tales farms. These products are delivered to users in the form of NFTs, and can then be redeemed to receive them at home or traded on the market, like real farmers. In addition, the big update of New Waxchester is about to be launched, which will make our multiplayer town available to everyone, where users can meet their friends, trade and compete in many mini-games built in collaboration with our main partners!

Train of the Century
When determining which blockchain to build a railroad simulator game on, we had three things we were looking for: speed, reliability, and player accessibility. Wax was the clear choice. It’s lightning fast, downtime is non-existent, and players can intuitively gain access via the Wax Cloud Wallet. Train of the Century has tens of thousands of transactions daily, and players pay virtually no gas fees — This wouldn’t be possible on other chains.
Train of the Century is a game on Wax where players build trains, deliver commodities to player-owned stations, and earn Tocium — the ToC native currency. The “Centuryverse” features a sci-fi narrative, and if players are lucky, they’ll encounter a host of nonplayer characters who bring additional rewards. Soon players will be able to travel backward in time to the “Wild West” Century, where a new set of objectives, NPC encounters, and rewards will be available.

Apex Conquest by Apex NFT Brasil
Apex NFT Brasil has been developing in the WAX space for a long time, and originally we joined because so many collections were looking for developers and we felt like we had the skills that they needed! After learning the WAX space, we absolutely fell in love with it. What is there to dislike? The carbon footprint isn’t a burden like Ethereum, gas fees are a thing of the past, and the cloud wallet allows users to join into our projects so quickly and easily.
