Hi! It’s been a while since my last post...
Let me start by asking—does this car’s shape look familiar to you?
This is actually a refined and carefully redrawn version of the supercar illustration I uploaded in a previous post.
As its name “Tsubaki” (meaning camellia in Japanese) suggests, the design of this car is inspired by the camellia flower, which is often used in Japanese art.

While many modern supercars and hypercars feature sharp, edgy designs that can feel somewhat cold, this car takes the opposite approach. Its rounded, wide, and low-slung body lines are meant to express the glossy, elegant presence of a camellia blossom.
There are no flashy aerodynamic parts or aggressive add-ons either. This was a deliberate choice to pursue a sense of beauty born from subtraction—a concept deeply rooted in Japan’s aesthetic of wabi-sabi.
Bold and extravagant designs certainly have their own striking appeal—and honestly, that’s closer to my usual art style—but that’s precisely why, this time, I wanted to focus on something simpler and softer.
Following trends is important, of course, but there is also much to learn from what has come before us. By weaving together elements of the past and the present, I hope to nurture a sense of creativity that leads to new aesthetic directions.
