I VOTE FOR AMALA

Amala is a special food of the Yoruba people of Nigeria. It is made from Yam or Cassava flour. It is a special delicacy in many homes and you will always come across it in many parties or celebration like naming ceremony, wedding, burial, house warming and lots more.

I vote for Amala. Amala is eaten with different types of soup ranging from ewedu, efo, ila, gbegiri, egusi but i prefer abula (mixture of more than one soup). I also love my soup to be blessed with thick ponmo and lots of iru (locust bean).

HOW TO PREPARE AMALA
Amala is very simple to prepare. You need the following equipment and ingredients;

Equipment:
Stove (for making fire)
Pot
Turning stick
Scooping spoon

Ingredients:
Yam or Cassava flour
Boiling water

Procedure:
Step 1: Pour your desired quantity of water in your pot and place on fire then allow to boil.
Step 2: Gradually add your yam or cassava flour to the boiling water and stir with your turning stick until you get a semi solid texture.
Step 3: Remove your turning stick and add a little water to your amala mixture and allow to boil for the second time.
Step 4: Stir all over again until you get a smooth texture.
Step 5: Use your scooping spoon to dish out of the pot unto your plate and serve with choice soup.

Yummy! Yummy!! Yummy!!!

I tell you, I vote for amala for dinner today.

The Yoruba's will say "o fele bi eti".
