Recently, I noticed that my new friends on Steemit don't quickly understand the other ways they can earn on Steemit, so I have decided to create this summarized post to give them a head start. I'm trusting that other notable steemians will add to the little I have to say by replying to this post.
The ways to earn on Steemit include the following:
- CREATING POSTS
- MAKING COMMENTS ON OTHER STEEMIAN’S POSTS
- UPVOTING
- PARTICIPATING IN CONTESTS AND CHALLENGES
CREATING POSTS
Your blog is your business, fill it with quality posts. Your blog should be a center of attraction for steemians and non-steemians.
When you have something that a lot of people are looking for, then you are sure on your way to earning more on steemit.
MAKING COMMENTS ON OTHER STEEMIAN’S POSTS
Every steemian wants to be seen and appreciated. The higher the number of steemians you help to achieve this goal the higher your chances of earning. So, whenever you make good comments on good posts or raise alarm on bad posts, you stand a chance of being upvoted by the creator of the post and by the readers of the posts. Most times, steemians with very high reputations with high steem power can give you muchif they upvote your nice comment on their post.
UPVOTING
This is one of the best ways to earn on steemit. All you have to do is, search for posts with potentials for a high payout and upvote it. It is usually best to upvote a post as soon as it is posted. The longer it gets, the less the percentage that will be allotted to you from the curators’ reward.
Also, those with higher steem power will also earn more rewards than those with lower steem power. You can buy steem power to earn more from upvoting good posts.

PARTICIPATING IN CONTESTS AND CHALLENGES
You can also join in contests. A lot of steemians win steem and steem dollars every day on steemit. All you have to do is to participate and follow the rules of the game.
An example of a simple contest that is currently on, and anyone can participate is on @quotes-contest.
All you have to do on @quote-contest is to post a quote as a comment to the quote of the week’s post and abide by the rules.
