Can we call this a technological advancement or madness? Is this a breakthrough that will affect generations to come positively or negatively? Can we say this will further damage the societal norm or reduce the societal challenge of rape and sexual harassment. Will sexbots worsen society’s ills
Technology has brought so many advancements but has also caused a crack in human relationship. If you’re anything like me, you reach for your smartphone as soon as you wake up to check email and respond to texts. The rest of the day, you’re constantly on a tablet, mobile device, laptop or desktop for personal or professional use. You’re messaging, browsing, friending, tweeting and sharing.
It’s great that we have the technology to connect with people across the globe instantly, but there’s also a sense of disconnection. If there’s an internet-capable device with a screen anywhere nearby, the immediate world doesn’t get our full attention. this got me thinking about the long term impact of technology on personal interactions. “My biggest issue with technology and relationships is the inability to detect tone. You can never really know when someone is being sarcastic, funny, not funny, serious or joking sometimes.”
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wondered what someone meant by their words – whether on social media, in a text or over email. Unless you see the person’s face, hear their voice and understand the environment, you have no idea the context surrounding the written words. Misunderstandings, miscommunications and assumptions result, which have an impact on how we view others.
Also as a corollary to the context issue, there is an utter lack of empathy when using technology to interact with people. “I am so sorry your ___ died, I feel for you… this and that”. Where is Where is the compassion and solidarity with loss? It certainly does exist within the soul of the person who texted, posted or emailed this – but words don’t convey that or does it….as humans we also need personal touch, a hug, a pat on the back but technology has replaced that with emoji’s and stickers, mind you all this are cute but it doesn’t create a personal connection with the people involved. remember social isolation is knocking on the door. I must say nothing can replace the usefulness of traditional interaction and discussion.so many flaw and cracks which technology has caused to human relationships and now though we may call it advancement “we all have our opinions” but it’s also a menace to the society.
It all started with the adult movie industry where something that was to be sacred became polluted and it lost it main value and purpose. As time goes on we got tired of humans and migrated to animals “crazy” all in the name of pleasure and insatiable lust. we all though it will stop there but like I said human lust is insatiable now we have sexbots, a sickening new industry fueled by lust and money which detractors say can only denigrate and objectify women further. We all know Rape is not an act of sexual passion.

"It is a violent crime, so We should no more be encouraging rapists to find a supposedly safe outlet for it than we should facilitate murderers by giving them realistic, blood-spurting dummies to stab.
On one side there are those who believe that expressing disordered or criminal sexual desires with a sex robot would satiate them to the point where they would not have the desire to harm fellow humans, how true is this? On the other side, this would be an indulgence that could encourage and reinforce illicit sexual practices. It may be that allowing people to live out their darkest fantasies with sex robots could have a pernicious effect on society and societal norms and create more danger for the vulnerable".

This I agree with.
These sexbots are robots, machines, and computerized so therefore they are hackable so the suggestion that sexbots will reduce sex crimes simply cannot be supported by facts. No one knows where it could lead. Because someone selects a robot for their sexual fantasies and seeming satisfaction does not necessarily mean that it will address and offset their more dangerous or criminal sexual fantasies and urges.

"Sexbots tech will only be one of many tech that will play a role in inducing this institutional change in marriage. However, given how closely sexual intimacy has been tied to marriage historically, its influence is likely to be profound. This is not to say that as a result of sexbots technology all marriages will be profoundly different than they are today. It suggests only that as a result of sexbots tech, individuals will be able to form relationships that are recognized by society as marriages but that are not recognized as marriages today".

In essence individuals will start getting married to sexbots, we humans tend to do crazy things we like it.
In summary, are we saying that human relationships are no more useful?
Are we tired of women and thinks they are no more useful in satisfying our mutual needs…I won’t be surprised if a male sexbots is developed? We need to start opening our eyes and take a stand. All inventions and ideas are good but not all are useful.
This world is ending!!!
