CHANT NIGERIA AT 57

This contest is geared towards creating awareness to all Nigerians home and abroad and to the steemit community of steemians in acknowledging that Nigeria as a nation, birthed today fifty seven years ago today. I am officially using this contest, to let the steemians know we are celebrating NIGERIA.

And we came to the task better equipped than many,
we emerged as one nation without bitterness and bloodshed,
without emphasis on religious differences by many;
we witnessed our mission and vision accomplished.
Chant! Chant!! Chant!!! for a new nation called NIGERIA is birthed.

And we cherished history of freedom,
before the emergence of European ambitions,
our coastal elites agitated for a new kingdom;
for independence and preservation of civilization.
Chant, Chant, Chant!!!, for a new colour called Nigeria is birthed.

And we remained patriotic without compromise,
for the works of our heroes past wasn't in vain,
join the chant and shouts for freedom promise;
for the works of our founding fathers we gain
Chant, Chant, Chant!!!, a new people called Nigeria is birthed.

And we chanted with the pitful peasants, who struggled along the corridors for survival;

And we chanted with the women and childrens in pleasantries,
in our hearts as we acknowledge our revival.
Chant, Chant, Chant!!!, a new heart called Nigeria is birthed.

With the starling events of independence,
we chant with a voice of hope and determination,
With the echoes of independence ,
We chant with a voice of victory and dedication.
Chant, Chant, Chant!!!, Happy Nigeria @ 57 today.
