I've been using steemit for a while now and from all I've read, steem Power is the most interesting part of this great community.
It's no longer news that steemit pays you when you post and get likes. The payout on your post greatly depends on how valuable your post (article) is to the reader.
The reward you get from upvoting other people's post is just what I want to share with you guys..
The reward you get for upvoting other people's post is called curators reward and it comes in steem STEEM POWER (SP).
Steem Power gives you influence in the Steemit community and helps you attract attention from those in the community.
Steem Power to me, is one of the best cryptocurrency investment in 2017 and for 2018. You earn more steem just by holding it in steem Power: Your steem Power increases when you upvote other people's post and when you make a post and the community upvotes your post.
Steem Power can earn you 2% interest and also you can lease STEEM POWER from minnowbooster and loan too

But to me, the best way to earn good returns on your steem Power is by making quality contents and upvoting quality contents.
Since may 2017, steemit has seen over 200k new users and I'm expecting it to grow exponentially as more people come to the community. You can get the growth stat of steemit from here by @furion .
As more users and celebrities come to Steemit , so will the number of activities increase and number of transactions increase.The Increase in the number of users and activity is what we need right now on Steemit.
All these will result in the explosion of the price of steem to About $8+. If /when this happens, steemians will be one of the happiest people on earth because they have steem in the form of steem Power. So if you had about 1000 steem Power and steem rises to $5 you'll end up having $5000.
I know it takes about 13 weeks to convert your steem Power to Steem, but if you've been studying or checking how cryptocurrencies have been growing, you should know all cryptocurrencies have support and resistance (Support is the price that a cryptocurrency can hardly fall below to, resistance is the highest price a cryptocurrency gets to).
I'm expecting STEEM to hit $10 and then settle at $5 or $7. Even if it hits my target of $10 and settle at $5, I still won't power down, because my plan for steem Power is to hold it for 5 years and more.
I'm sure steem will hit $500 per steem in 5 to 10 years time. So having 1000 SP should give you about $500,000 in 5 to 10 years. All other cryptocurrencies grow and settle at a support and steem will do same.
strategy to get more steem Power
I've already told you guys 3 ways to get steem Power, which is from minnowbooster, from upvotes on your post and from you upvoting other valuable contents.
You can also get more steem Power by using steemvoter which helps you upvote your favorite authors on your behalf so you could earn more steem Power.
The population of steemit is growing everyday and so is the number of great content creators. One might have difficulty keeping track to know when one's favorite author will post a content, so as to be one of the first to upvote it, steemvoter automatically helps you do that.
All you need do is go Steemvoter.com register, click "add account and provide your steemit username and posting key.
To get your posting key, go to your steemit wallet and click permission, then under posting click "show private key".
After adding your steemit username and posting key, next will be to add rules (usernames of authors and how you'll like to upvote them).

choose the percentage at which you'll love to be upvoting every of that authors post.
when you'll like to upvote, I love leaving mine at exactly 20 minutes after the post was made.
