Mothers are mothers irrespective of where they are from but there's no doubt that Nigerian moms have some uniqueness about them. How else can I distinguish one who already separated herself by words and actions that speaks clearly and even so loud.
She is popularly referred to as "mumsi" , "maale" and in my case "Iya Temi" (Temi's mom). she is the definition of woman hood, extremely dynamic and disciplined.
Her love is so pure, it may not come as expected but it surpasses expectations on arrival. My Nigerian mom will flog me so well and still console me by telling me "it's because I love you, that's why I'm flogging you".
She's a 5 star general when it comes to discipline. Even at adulthood you still hear her voice vividly tell you not to cross the line because if you do there's no escape. It's only a Nigerian mom that'll speak to you with her eyes and you'll understand even more than when she does with words.
I remember as a kid, I'll go out to play even when she has asked me not to. I'll come back home injured but that didn't stop her from ministering sense to me while attending to my wounds.
Her love is exceptional, she will do almost anything to ensure that I have the neccesities of life and live like a queen.
She is a lioness when it comes to defending me. She will protect me even with her life, I love her with all I've got. She's my first love and she occupies an irreplaceable position in my heart.
This is one woman who knows me so well; from my shoes size down to my clothes and even information I may not even remember .
She's my living safe!!! This holds memories till date of when it comes to money. it only goes in not to come out. You ask her for a refund of the money she borrowed from you and she tells you "all the food you have been eating in this house, which money do you think was used in buying them? ".
She is so strong physically, emotionally and even spiritually. I remember times we've been in the kitchen together and she just lifts up a very hot pot with her bare hands.
All these and so much more distinguishes my Nigeria mum from every other. She is unique, special and exceptional!! Appreciate your mom (especially in person) while she's still alive.

Heheh..
"I remember times we've been in the kitchen together and she just lifts up a very hot pot with her bare hands."
Till tomorrow i always wonder how she does that... Even using bare hands to pack grounded pepper..
Mothers are really special.
