But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at your word I will let down the net” (Luke 5:5).

Jesus met Simon Peter near the seashore of Galilee. Simon was a fisherman. I think, his family would have involved in this trade of fishing for generations. He had good experience in it. He tried for the whole night but was unable to catch a single fish. It was a devastating defeat, among defeats.

Dear children of God, know one thing. A thing impossible by efforts and experience is possible for God. Nothing is impossible for God. He is the one to turn your defeat into success. When He blesses your effort, you will definitely remain blessed.

Simon Peter spared his boat to God. Sitting in the boat, Jesus preached to the people standing around. The historic scholars say that there would have been around two thousand boats around the seashore of Galilee. The boat of Peter received the great blessing which no other boat ever received. Jesus did not go away without doing a miracle to Peter who gave his boat to Him.

If you offer your home to God, it will be a blessing to your home. When you offer your children to God, a blessing is there in it. If you give the tithe to God, He will definitely open the windows of the heaven and bless you. Obey God so that you are blessed.

The Scripture says, “And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fishes and their net was breaking” (Luke 5:6). Peter saw the miracle of God directly. When they made efforts to catch the fish for the whole night where had these fish gone? Yes. God, who calls those things which do not exist as though they are in existence, is powerful. It is possible to Him. Everything is possible.

I believe that new fishes created by God at that time would have come and fallen in the net. He is God, who calls those things which do not exist as though they are in existence. He is the one who created everything from void. He is powerful to create a happy world for you. Do not place your faith in the fish but place it on God. Do not rely on your education, experience and effort. Listen to the counselling of God and act according to His Word. He is the Counsellor (Isaiah 9:6).

The Scripture says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye” (Psalms 32:8). Even the impossible ones will become possible when you act in accordance with the advice of God. Miracles will happen. He is God, great in ideas and powerful in deeds. No miraculous thing is impossible to Him. Yes. Possible. Possible to God.

To meditate: “ *Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men” (Luke 5:10).

Yes, God can do anything. God can provide for our needs. We should trust that God will do that.

No, offering your children to God won't create a blessing. Offering your home to God won't create a blessing. God's greatest desire is to make us more like Christ. Not to make us happy. Typically when you become a Christian your life becomes harder and not easier. This is why:

(James 1:2-4 NIV) Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, {3} because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. {4} Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
