Nigerian Delicacies (dishes)

INTRODUCTION

I have earlier in my introductory post declared that I am a proud Nigerian despite the societal ills. This evening I will be talking about Nigerian Delicacies. Nigeria is a country with ethnics diversity and so is our foods and dishes.

I will be introducing on this platform different Delicacies in my country. I will start today with the Yoruba tribe. The most common delicacy among d yorubas is pounded yam(Ian) with Efo Riro (stewed vegetable)

HOWTOPREPARESTEWEDVEGETABLE

Ingredient

  1. Vegetable (spinach)
  2. Palm oil
  3. Smoked fish
  4. Cow skin
  5. Crayfish
  6. Beef meat
  7. Onions
  8. Blended pepper
  9. Seasoning
  10. Salt
  11. Locust beans

Wash your vegetable vrty well to get rid of sand and other unwanted items, cut (chop) it into your desired size, wash again and drain. Boil your meat and cow skin with your desired seasoning and set aside. Pour red oil into your pot and out it on d gas cooker, stove or whatever gadget you use for cooking and heat it for about 30 secs.

Pour your blended pepper and allow to it for about 5minutes then pour your already boiled meat and cow leg and the smoked fosh into d pot allow to heat for another 5 minutes and add your cray fish and sliced onions also pour in the locust beans turn it together with spatula and then pour your already drained vegetable and turn it with the spatula. Your stewed vegetable is ready.

HOWTOPREPAREPOUNDEDYAM

Peel your pounded yam and cut into small slices boil it for 10 to 20 minutes depending on d size. Pour inside your Mortal and pound until it is smooth.
