1.Nature you can't compare:
Norwegians appreciate their nature more than anyone. Sundays are known as our trip day in the wilderness.
Picking blueberries, hunting, trip to cabin or just a walk in the woods with your dog. Me? I personally love exploring our beautiful coastline on our boat. Almost every Norwegian owns: a cabin by the sea/mountains or a boat.
2.Amazing views
Hurtigruten, a cruise going from from south to north on the west coast will take you on an unforgettable adventure.
Lakes with every length, mountains with every height and views your eyes will believe only as long as you are there.
Preikestolen, in english called Pulpit Rock, is not without reason called best viewpoint in the world by Lonely Planet in 2015. Build the highest tower to get the view over cities or towns, sometimes its better to let the nature decide. It looks like someone built it so we can enjoy the spectacular view. And why shouldn't we?
3.People that don't say "no"
You will rarely find anyone who doesn't want to help you. Numerous organizations have volunteers who help tourists to get to their destination.
4.Language - The easiest part
Norwegian language is very close to english and german. If you know any of these languages, learning it will go very smooth. We start to learn english in 4th grade, so there will be no trouble communicating with us!
5.Weather you didn't believe existed
We have 4 very pronounced seasons here. The long coast and hot wind coming from the west keeps the temperature very stable during seasonal changes. July and August are the hottest months. This year, many cities on the southern part of Norway had temperature going just above 30 degrees celsius. Dont believe me? come and check for yourself!
Norway has the perfect mild climate in the world for growing strawberries in summer. Not too sour, not too sweet, just amazing delightness for your tastebuds.
6.Festivals and Concerts
Mostly during summer, we have numerous festivals which suits local residents and tourists. My favourite is the Shellfish festival in Mandal. Fresh crabs or shrimps, the atmosphere is amazing.
In my town, we have concerts every year by the beach, next year is probably sold out already. Artists like 50 cent, black eyed peace, Jason Derulo, Steve Aoki, Kygo, you cant miss it!
7.Aurora
If you would like to see the most breathtaking phenomenon, Northern lights is the one!
There is a reason they call it one of the seventh wonders on the world.
Northern lights, also called Aurora Borealis,
You are standing there, the silence, you blink several times to ensure your eyes aren’t deceiving you. A green shimmer wafts across the sky, growing in intensity with every minute. There’s no guarantee how long it’ll last or what shape it will form. Eventually, the dancing, shimmering miracle fades and vanishes but the imprint in your mind will be with you forever.
