My first month on Steemit - 750$ made, 326 followers and met amazing people!

in #norway7 years ago (edited)

I don't even remember how I found Steemit. I just remember thinking; "This is the shiznit! I gotta try this out"
In the beginning I didn't understand how it worked at all, but after shouting after my wife telling her I just earned 5$ for writing my introduction the first day, I realized this could be a very nice hobby.

I've always enjoyed thinking and writing. But I've been using most of my energy on entrepreneurship, and my other interests like Anarchy, Capitalism, Politics , School system and Freedom have just been something I've learned for my own interest and enjoyment. Writing on Facebook has never been my thing. I just saw it as a waste of time, especially since I hardly know anyone who likes freedom.

Then along came Steemit. I've been spending a lot of time here, looking for likeminded people (and not likeminded people, but people with interesting ideas) and writing about the topics I enjoy, plus a little bit sharing of my life. And I'm really surprised at how generous and nice people are. I'm engaged in great conversations, I can upvote people that I enjoy..it's really worth the time spent. I've tried to explain Steemit for some friends, but I only get blank stares in return. So..I guess they are occupied with watching TV. I don't know.

So here's how it's gone the first month.

Keep in mind that I have invested 1000$ into Steemit the first month. About 220$ every week.

So 1000$ invested I have been payed out 425$ the first month. If I include the pending payments for all the content I've created up until today that's another 275$ (Calculated about 75% reward to me)

Giving it a total of 700$ , and that's not counting potential curation rewards or comments rewards. I will probably total about 750$ the first month. that's more than 6000 norwegian kroner. That's almost 20% of a full average salary in Norway.

I HAVE however spent a good amount of time on Steemit, and I've spent some time writing articles. And my rewards has dropped a little bit the last couple of days. BUT, making 750$ in one month as a side hustle? Holy shit. Even if I can just keep it at this level, it's so amazing.

I really want to thank every nice person that I've interacted with, and especially @barbro and @ramta for teaching me alot about how Steemit works. I'm motivated!

wow, you've been hustling hard on the platform. I admire your dedication.

Thanks a bunch! I wish you good luck too!

Way to go @scandinavianlife!!! :)

@scandinavianlife

Wow, am inspired...wonderful...in just a month you made this milestone...you doing great...am inspired more to work harder so that by the time i get to 1 month, i target more and surpass first 1000 followers ...I hope to do this being that I am steeming hot from the first day i started and seing the positive outcome gives us the impetus to work harder... already am surpassing 500 followers and earnings are climbing...Steemit is a testimony platform...

Thanks for sharing this to inspire me more to work harder...Lets keep steeming! While we do, remember that family is first as such read my blog post on a short family versus office story and follow me for more...
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks a lot! You are doing better than me! I just post a lot more. You are getting 100s up upvotes and earn more! You just need to create more content :)

sure i know, however my strategy for now is to be super active on reading and commenting on good posts while encouraging new members to work hard...As you know, when one comes in new with little contacts/followers, posting many contents does not get much recognition as such i feel i may be wasting my good jokers...once i hit my target, build up enough steem power ( started with $50 worth) then expect content galore which will surely tickle your fancy...
thanks once more and happy you visited my blog!

Thats a good strategy.

thank you sir...i appreciate

Well done scandinavianlife. I think you are a great example for newcomers. Your results have probably been a lot better than the average 30-day-old user and I can tell it is because you have put in some hard dedicated work!

Thank you for being an inspiration

Thank you so much! That is very motivational to hear. I wish you the best of luck too!

Nice results. Keep it on!

I don't know how I found you profile but i ve been following you since i joined steemit (2 weeks ago) i think that your content is great so yeah congrats you really deserve it

Oh, thanks! I didn't follow you, but I do now! :) Means a lot that you enjoy my content :) Thank you very much

Congrats for your achievement! Seems a few people are able to have a really good start. To what extent do you think it helped the fact that you invested 1000 usd in steemit? I'm not talking about the fact you probably felt more motivated.

I also added 200 to my account and I feel it's a bit addictive. I don't know if I should stop it or not! :)

To be honest, I don't think it made that big of a difference. I think I've been lucky and have some followers that are very genereous, but I also have a lot of "inactive" followers. So I suppose it's a little bit early to conclude with anything after one month, other than having a really good start. Luck, good content, or a little bit of both - I don't know. Thank you very much! Btw, seems like you are doing pretty good as well. 100$ first month (if you invested 200) It's a nice extra income.

2 more questions. How could you tell how much I made, I have the account for a couple of days and nothing was added to my steem dollars balance. It needs 7 days as I read.

From where did you get the first screenshot?

Oh, I just looked at your estimated account value. It says 372, and you said you invested 200..which means you made about 172$ actually. The first screenshot is from www.steemdb.com ! Just search for you name top right.

Thanks, that made my day(or the day of tomorrow)! I didn't know is possible, I thought I have to wait 7 days to get the rewards. I actually invested 217. So I got 155 minus another 27 steem power which I think are added in the profile. But I'm 100% convinced that account value reflect the earnings or is based on other factors. I'll have to wait to see.

Your account's value is estimated on the value of Steem in US Dollars. So you have 200 steem (power) and the price of steem is 1,69$ =338. And I can also see you have some steem dollars. Nice work!

Ok, I brought 200 steems using some eth, I thought they are about 200 usd. The whole steem/steem dollars confused me. I brought the steem dollars before, so if I sum all up, I practically I made around 15 steem dollars. Still good for beginning.

Welcome to Steemit @scandinavianlife . Nice post, i will follow your account, please follow me at @khunfarang

Thanks bro! I'll check out your blog!
