in #noticias5 years ago

A federal jury has condemned two suspected Romanian cybercriminals for spreading malware to steal credit card credentials and illegally mine cryptocurrencies, an announcement on the official website of the US Department of Justice revealed on 11 April.

Reportedly, the malware allegedly released by the suspects was used for cryptojacking and to steal credit cards and other data that the suspects would have sold in the darknet markets and use to participate in online auction fraud.

As reported in the Justice Department press releases, Bogdan Nicolescu, 36, and Radu Miclaus, 37, were convicted after a 12-day trial.740_aHR0cHM6Ly9zMy5jb2ludGVsZWdyYXBoLmNvbS9zdG9yYWdlL3VwbG9hZHMvdmlldy83YTFhZGQwZDUxYmE0ZTE4MTZjNmJmMThmMTdjMTAzYi5qcGc=.webp
