INKTOBER Day #14 "OVERGROWN"

Let's see how much I can draw tonight, I usually make plans to draw and sometimes I can't stand it, I need to be a little faster if I want to reach the day to day Inktober and stop being late in it.

Day #14 "overgrown", I think that here if I exaggerate a little in size, I know that the mammoths were quite big, but rays, that I draw would be terrifying, the earth must tremble at his footsteps, I would not like to be near while he is walking.

Tools:

  • Opaline Cardboard (A4)
  • HB Graphite Pencil
  • Black ballpoint pen

-Step 1:

The drawing begins with a soft sketch, made with an HB pencil.

-Step 2:

Once the sketch was finished, I scanned it and quickly returned to make the outline, using the ballpoint pen.

-Step 3:

This time there are no solid blacks, so I did not resort to the use of the marker, the shading I did creating fur through small stripes.

-Step 4:

The coat I did more or less as I usually do the pointillism, for the shadows and darker areas I had to make many stripes, as close as possible to each other. As always, the challenge was in the soft shadows, it is difficult to get a faint shade with the ballpoint pen, so the mountains in the background have uneven strokes.

I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.

What is inktober?

The inktober is an initiative created by the illustrator Jake Parker in 2009, in order to improve his artistic skills, although over the years has made a great impact on the international artistic community. The challenge is to make a drawing with ink every day, hence its name, "ink" (ink) "tober" (October), although for the most part this is respected, many other artists prefer to stay in their comfort zone, so you can see illustrations made with watercolors, graphite, charcoal, digital and any existing technique.

Saludos.

It is a work that stimulates imagination
