What if I set @null as beneficiary ...

Since Hardfork 18 you can set other steem accounts as beneficiaries for your posts.

This is not featured by the Steemit GUI, but you can use tools like this:

As far as I understand, the payout will be burned.

The difference to a declined payout-post would be, that curators still get their curation rewards.

I have seen some declined payout-posts perform really bad and I assume, that's because voters don't want to miss out on their curation rewards ...

This would also be a solution, when @steemitblog forgets to decline the payout again :P

Very interesting. Personally, I rarely vote on declined-payout posts for exactly the reason you are assuming.

Dort kannst du nachträglich Begünstigte für deine Artikel einstellen.
Je nach Anteil, kriegen diese Begünstigten dann die Auszahlung.

Steemwhales ist ein externes tool und nicht von Steemit Inc.
Dort deinen key einzufügen, kann ein paar mehr Risiken mit sich bringen.
