Awesome gold coin, @novacadian! I really love gold, and I stack them in fractional size. And like you, I stack to save value and look at precious metals as a hedge, rather than an investment. I imagine you have a horde of gold already. I still have to fill a pouch of it.

Yeah these coins really appealed to me for those reason mentioned in the comment threads. Like you, the fractional coins are especially appealing. Needless to say they would be easier to use should occasion require it; but they seem to me more like jewellery in the small and more delegate size. These two are about the size (if not exactly) of a dime.
