Hi, today I will give a review about a movie that Netflix has recently released and I thought it was interesting to talk about it and about the issue that is visualized on it, I like this kind of movies based on real life because it allows us to be more aware of the things that happen around us, maybe it's not the kind of movie that everyone would be excited to watch but I would definitely recommend it, join me to see its generalities and why it's so good to my perception.
Hola, hoy daré una reseña sobre una película que Netflix ha lanzado hace poco y me pareció interesante hablar de ella y sobre las problemáticas que se visualizan, me gustan este tipo de películas basadas en la vida real porque nos permite ser más conscientes de las cosas que pasan a nuestro alrededor, quizás no es el tipo de película que todos se emocionarían a ver pero definitivamente la recomendaría, acompáñame a ver sus generalidades y el por qué es tan buena a mi percepción.
I am all the girls is a film raised by director Donovan Marsh and released on the netflix platform on May 14, 2021, mainly I found it interesting for its air of crime novel, where there are cases to investigate and draw a conclusion in front of them, it is a film of intrigue, mystery and crime or suspense, this was the main reason for what I decided to watch it, as it's a genre that I like and enjoy a lot, the film encompasses a strong theme that is evident today and in any corner of the world and this is child trafficking, this movie is based on a real situation and although the film doesn't mention which one, it's thought to be based on a real crime committed by Gert van Rooyen, who was a serial killer and pedophile from South Africa, who is attributed with at least 6 murders of girls, the last girl who was in his clutches was able to escape and alert the police about what happened, however, the information was scarce and it couldn't be determined if there were more girls or the total number of crimes committed, but it's good to note that although a real situation is analyzed, not all the film is real, since the narrative of how the facts are executed is fictitious.
Yo soy todas las niñas es una película planteada por el director Donovan Marsh y estrenada en la plataforma de netflix el 14 de mayo del 2021, principalmente me pareció interesante por su aire de novela policiaca, donde hay casos para investigar y sacar una conclusión frente a ellos, es una película de intriga, misterio y crimen o suspenso, esta fue la principal razón por la que decidí verla, ya que es un género que me gusta y que disfruto mucho, la película engloba un tema fuerte que se evidencia en la actualidad y en cualquier rincón del mundo y este es el tráfico infantil, es basada en una situación real y aunque en la película no se menciona a cual, se tiene la idea que se basa en un crimen real cometido por Gert van Rooyen, quien fue un asesino serial y pedófilo de sudáfrica, a quien se le atribuyen al menos 6 asesinatos de niñas, la última chica que estuvo en sus garras pudo escapar y alertar a la policía sobre lo sucedido, pero la información era poca y no se pudo determinar si habían más niñas o la cantidad de crímenes totales cometidos, sin embargo, es bueno destacar que aunque se analiza una situación real, no toda la película lo es, ya que la narrativa a cómo se ejecutan los hechos es ficticio.
The main plot involves a detective named Jodie who is in charge of an operation to find culprits in sex crimes, however, after several failures and lack of money to conclude the operations, she's assigned an unusual case of a murder of a pedophile that would be related to her previous investigations, although Jodie's boss doesn't consider the case to be so important in the investigation, evidence is found that makes it extremely valuable and interesting.
His partner Ntombizonke Bapai years before when she was just a child, was kidnapped by a couple along with other girls to exploit and sell them to a member of the national party, who would be in charge of offering them to a child trafficking network, however, not all of them are sold, some were only "used" and not meeting the expectations of the top leaders, they were sent to a low brothel in South Africa where they spend almost all their lives, in this place is where Ntombi was responsible for perfecting their techniques to one day work hand in hand with the police and combat these crimes.
After Jodie took the murder case, other murders began to happen linked to their investigations with valuable clues that will lead them to put the puzzle together and end this network, each murder had the initials of missing girls who were allegedly victims of this traffic, but as the clues and systematic murders happened, it is considered likely that the murderer was already aware of the operation, and this would put the whole investigation in a tightrope.
La trama principal engloba a una detective llamada Jodie que está a cargo de un operativo para encontrar culpables en delitos sexuales, sin embargo, tras varios fallos y falta de dinero para concluir los operativos, se le asigna un inusual caso de un asesinato hacia un pedofilo que estaría relacionado con sus investigaciones anteriores, aunque el jefe de Jodie no considera que sea tan importante el caso dentro de la investigación, se encuentran evidencias que lo hacen sumamente valioso e interesante.
Su compañera Ntombizonke Bapai años antes cuando era tan solo una niña, fue raptada por una pareja junto con otras niñas para explotarlas y venderlas a un integrante del partido nacional, quien se encargaría de ofrecerlas a una red de tráfico infantil, sin embargo, no todas son vendidas, algunas sólo eran “usadas” y al no cumplir con las expectativas de los altos dirigentes, son enviadas a un bajo burdel de sudáfrica donde pasan casi toda su vida, en dicho lugar es donde Ntombi se encargó de perfeccionar sus técnicas para un día trabajar de la mano de la policía y combatir estos crímenes.
Luego de que Jodie tomara el caso de asesinato, empiezan a suceder otros asesinatos vinculados a sus investigaciones con pistas valiosas que los llevaran a armar el rompecabezas y terminar con esta red, cada asesinato poseia las iniciales de niñas desaparecidas que presunamente fueron victimas de este tráfico, sin embargo, a como sucedian las pistas y los asesinatos sistematicos se considera problable que el asesino ya estuviera al tanto del operativo, y esto pondria en cuerda floja toda la investigación.
In general, the characters within the plot of the film are really good, they have their own interests and their own obligations within the film, personally Jodie's character did not catch me as much as I thought she would, because I feel that in many parts of the film she deviates from what she wants to achieve to meet her own objectives and interests, and often this triggers misunderstandings; however, I find her emotionality incredible because despite everything, all her decisions are in favor of saving lives and helping helpless childs, she always has the best intention even if it is often not the most accurate.
En general, los personajes dentro de la trama de la película son realmente interesantes, tienen sus propios intereses y sus propias obligaciones dentro de la película, en lo personal el personaje de Jodie no me atrapó tanto como pensé que lo haría, pues siento que en muchas partes de la película se desvía de lo que se quiere lograr para cumplir con sus propios objetivos e intereses,y muchas veces esto desencadena malentendidos; logrando fallos en la investigación, sin embargo, me parece increíble su emocionalidad ya que a pesar de todo, todas sus decisiones son en pro de salvar vidas y ayudar a los niños indefensas, siempre tiene la mejor intención aunque esta muchas veces no sea la más acertada.
Despite this, I was really enchanted with Ntombizonke's character, in my opinion she reflects a strong woman with a relentless thirst for revenge, and that despite the situations that life forced her to face she tries to make every decision in the most logical and sensible way possible, I loved her character because I know that many women today see themselves represented by her, despite how difficult her life was, she didn't give up under any circumstances, becoming a strong, brave woman with a big heart.
It's difficult for me to visualize this type of actions such as child trafficking in a movie because it is something that is rarely talked about and even though there are so many cases a year, we become oblivious to such situations when we do not live them, that is why I was so moved by this character, it's difficult to imagine all the abuses that these people have suffered, and to see this reflection in a character is quite raw and strong.
A pesar de esto, quedé realmente encantada con el personaje de Ntombizonke, en mi opinión refleja a una mujer fuerte con una sed de venganza implacable, y que a pesar de las situaciones que la vida le obligó a enfrentar trata de tomar cada decisión de la forma más lógica y sensata posible, a pesar de no tener un discurso tan amplio en toda la película, logra transmitir todo lo que se desea, amé su personaje porque sé que muchas mujeres en la actualidad se ven representadas por ella, a pesar de lo difícil que fue su vida no se rindió hacia ninguna circunstancia, convirtiéndose en una mujer fuerte, valiente y de un gran corazón.
Se me hace complicado visualizar este tipo de acciones como lo es el tráfico infantil dentro de una película porque es algo de lo que poco se habla y a pesar de que hayan tantos casos al año, nos hacemos ajenos a este tipo de situaciones cuando no las vivimos, por esto me conmovió tanto este personaje, se me hace difícil imaginar todos los abusos que estas personas han sufrido, y ver este reflejo en un personaje es bastante crudo y fuerte.
There are other secondary characters that have an important role in the film, however, I feel that they don' t capture all my attention, such as the boss of the operation, and the partner who had jodie in the operation, but I am aware that their roles in the film were extremely important.
Existen otros personajes secundarios que tienen un rol importante dentro de la película, sin embargo, siento que no logran captar toda mi atención, como lo es el jefe de la operación, y el compañero que tenía jodie dentro del operativo, pero soy consciente que sus papeles dentro de la película son sumamente importantes.
The situation that is visualized in the film is child trafficking, a global problem that is very difficult to control, it' s estimated that every day 4000 children are victims of child trafficking, usually the type of people who perform these illegal and immoral acts are related to large networks engaged in drug trafficking and prostitution, making the power and corruption leave these cases unpunished.
This type of children are mainly used for sexual exploitation, however, in many other cases they' re used for the sale of organs, forced marriages or even as cheap labor in factories, the areas that usually witness more this problem are places where poverty abounds since many times there are not even records of those born in that territory, making the search more difficult, in addition many of these families seeking better living conditions decide to become allies of these traffickers who promise them a decent life and work, but as we know, the reality is always different.
La situación que se visualiza dentro de la película es el tráfico infantil, una problemática global que es muy difícil de controlar, se estima que cada día 4000 niños y niñas son víctimas de tráfico infantil, normalmente el tipo de personas que realizan estos actos ilegales e inmorales están relacionados con grandes redes dedicadas al narcotrafico y a la prostitución, haciendo que el poder y la corrupción deje estos casos impunes.
Este tipo de niños son utilizados principalmente para explotación sexual, sin embargo, en muchos otros casos son usados para venta de órganos, matrimonios forzados o incluso como mano de obra barata dentro de las fábricas, las áreas que suelen presenciar más esta problemática, son lugares donde la pobreza abunda puesto que muchas veces ni siquiera se tienen registros de los nacidos en dicho territorio, haciendo la búsqueda más difícil, además muchas de estas familias buscando mejores condiciones de vida deciden convertirse aliados de estos traficantes que les prometen vida digna y trabajo, pero como sabemos, la realidad siempre es otra.
En lo personal, me gustó mucho la película considero que de vez en cuando es importante concientizarnos sobre algunas situaciones presentes y ¿Qué mejor manera que cuando una película decide plasmar este tipo de problemáticas? donde se hace mención y memoria a todas las víctimas.
The narrative and the sequence of the film are in line with what is desired to capture, a mixture of fiction and reality that give the film a great advantage, in addition to evidence without reaching explicit content the awareness that is desired to make about the problem and sympathizing greatly with the viewer.
La narrativa y la secuencia de la película son acordes a lo que se desea plasmar, una mezcla entre ficción y realidad que le dan a la película una gran ventaja, además de que evidencia sin llegar a contenidos explícitos la conciencia que se desea hacer sobre la problemática simpatizando en gran medida con el espectador.
I am all girls has a scenario set in this problematic and with real life situations, in general, I think the director and the cast did a great job, although it is a predictable film this it' s not a bother, because I feel that its main objective is to make visible the dark subject of human trafficking.
Yo soy todas las niñas tiene un escenario ambientado a este problema y con situaciones de la vida real, en general, creo que el director y el elenco hicieron un gran trabajo, a pesar de que sea una película predecible, esto no supone una molestia, pues siento que su objetivo principal es hacer visible el oscuro tema del tráfico de personas.
I highly recommend it, and I feel that you should give it a chance, take a little time and watch it in detail and thus become aware of an issue that although it is not mentioned, exists in our reality and is extremely painful, I would really hope that these situations were only captured on the screen turned into science fiction, unfortunately it is a reality and stalks millions of people every day, in memory of those victims, I think this movie is fabulous.
La recomiendo en gran medida, y siento que debería dársele una oportunidad, sacar un poco de tiempo y verla al detalle y así tomar conciencia sobre un tema del que aunque no se menciona, existe en nuestra realidad y es sumamente doloroso, esperaría de verdad que estas situaciones solo quedaran plasmadas en la pantalla convertida en ciencia ficción, lastimosamente es una realidad y acecha a millones de personas cada día, en memoria de esas víctimas, me parece fabulosa esta película.
