That's a really nice way of putting it. Somewhat of a fusing between science, mathematics, and life application.
It is not the mindset of a soldier, but the mindset of one in command. A soldier does as he is ordered. A general knows that every action will bring struggle, but a struggle is an opportunity to win.
The result of the end-game will likely be determined by the morale/heart of the men, how well they have been prepared, and the tactical ability of their leaders.
The action begins at the head and works its way down the chain of command. The battle is fought, territory shifts, and a new set of opportunities is found in the settling dust of war.
