It was a cool, windy day by the Nile. Birds flew overhead, and the Nile was rippled by the wind. I was sitting by the Nile. I was bored, sitting there all day. But suddenly, a hawk flew down and dropped a basket into the river. I looked down into the basket to see a small baby. I picked it up and looked at it. In the basket, on a piece of papyrus, there was a float. It was a scarab beetle, but it had the words ''Place me in the mouth of the river'' carved on it. It was an order. So I put the statuette in my mouth, and placed the basket back into the Nile. The hawk then flew away. I watched it until I couldn't see it anymore. Then I heard a voice. ''Place me in the mouth of the river.'' I thought that the hawk was talking to me! I placed the scarab in my mouth. It felt as if it had a mind of its own. Then it spoke. ''Together, we must embark on an epic journey to save Egypt from the evil god Tenenit, who plans to destroy all of Egypt.'' I'm really sorry to have to interrupt the story, but I have to tell you about Tenenit. Tenenit is a ''Wadjet'' (wedge) shaped goddess, and is shown with the head of a ''Cobra''. She protects against evil and ''Curses''. She was very potent in the Old Kingdom.
However, some New Kingdom ''Priests'' thought that Wadjet was too strong, so they invented a ''God'' called ''Ra'', and declared that Ra' was king over all the gods. That's actually why my story is called ''Egyptian God''. Everyone knows who Ra' is, but very few people really know about Wadjet. We have to get back to my story.
''After I was bitten by a cobra, I knew that I had to join this '''Journey''', and that everything was going to be all right.'' This part of the story is very important. The ''Cobra'' is a symbol for a curse. This is a very important thing to remember, because whenever you read Egyptian Mythology stories, the Egyptian Gods, who form the Egyptian Pantheon, have their ''Sigils'' attached to them, which have symbols of their ''Divine Abilities''. Wadjet, for example, has a Cobra, because cobras can hit their victims with their venom. It's a very interesting symbol to know.
The cobra took me to the Nile, and then we set off on the journey together. As we travelled along the Nile, we encountered monsters, who threatened us. We encountered other traps, which we needed to overcome to reach Tenenit. The cobra then spoke to me. ''Together, let us conquer all.'' After we conquered all the monsters and traps, we came to the Fifth Pyramid. It was a palace, guarded by a dragon. I had to first use my magic to scare away the dragon. As I approached the dragon, it roared ''Ra' is a god, and he is not to be trifled with!'' I ran away from the fearsome beast. I then summoned the cobra and asked it to retrieve a stone from the dragon's belly, which I needed. We moved forward, and soon came to The Sphinx. That was a huge statue, with a head that looked like a man and a body that looked like a bird (it was the body of a Great Ape). The Sphinx told us that Tenenit was hidden in the statue's mouth.
We needed concealed weapons to get past the Sphinx. I tried to use my magic. The cobra then told me to go back to the town of ''Aswan''. I went back to Aswan and acquired the weapons from Lepra and another soldier. Then we went to the Sphinx and past it, to the ''King's Tomb''. The tomb was guarded by three witches (see ''Egyptian Mythology'' (GameCheck Egyptiana) for the names of the witches). The leaders of the witches were called ''Sha'ira'', ''Ishat'', and ''Heriyet''. We lay in wait quietly until dawn. Then the three witches came out of the tomb in their cackling, cackling shapes. I then day-travelled back to the tomb, where I waited until they left. I then entered the tomb, and went towards the tomb's stairs. There was a stone that I needed to cut, which was in Sh'a'ira's shape. I went back to my body in Aswan, where I put on disguise armour. Then I went back to the tomb to steal the stone. I stole the stone, but then I started reading what was engraved on it, and it began to curse me. At this time, the cobra appeared beside me and bit me for the second time. I was really scared, because of the cobra's venom. But the cobra appeared, smiling. ''Don't worry, I won't hurt you, because you are my Master.'' I then knew that everything was going to be okay.
After that, we left, and we discovered a tomb. The cobra knew that it was Tenenit, and she told me that we were going to have to face her at the top of the Fifth Pyramid, and that we were going to have to defeat her. We travelled and climbed up the Fourth Pyramid, and then climbed back down, which was actually kinda scary. The Fourth Pyramid was the most dangerous one. We climbed up the Third Pyramid, and then climbed down that one as well. The Third Pyramid was too dangerous as well. The Second Pyramid was a lot easier than the other ones. I thought that it was going to let us pass, but it didn't.
We had to defeat it, just like we defeated the other pyramids. It did the same thing. When we defeated it, the pyramids collapsed into the sand and we passed to the First Pyramid. It wasn't hard, because we had defeated all the others. We then climbed up and defeated Tenenit.
