Marky isn't downvoting for selfish reasons. Anyone who says so, needs to see both sides of coin.
People can argue that his downvotes r good or bad but they ain't for direct financial gains.
My project also got downvoted but I changed how it works although downvotes ain't stopped yet but they will after I show continued behaviour changes.
I didn't wrote a post about it. Instead it's my first ever comment about this matter. My project was downvoted and my reaction was, anyone can upvote and downvote and the sum of + - is what we get. That's it. That's how this system is built. Call it a fight or a balance it's upto people. The code don't care about sentiments of anyone, nor u, me or marky. We r equal for the code.
My project @hivepakistan was downvoted and I don't blame @themarkymark for it.
It's just how the code works. He can keep doing what he is doing and I won't hate him as a person.
(I have my own arguments how, why, when etc.... but code don't see any of that. We need to understand the code to have clarity of how hive works. If we don't like it, we can find other alternatives.)
Why do people forget that rewards are a sum of upvotes and downvotes? Shouldn't people have the same right to downvote like they have the right to upvote? The stigma related to downvotes is soo strong that I fear people will assume wrong things about hivepakistan which r incorrect just because of a negative emoji. But other than the stigma downvotes bring and the problems it will cause me in onboarding, guilding, mentoring.... I don't see any reason of how such downvotes makes hive good or bad. When I joined hive, I knew everything of how it works. It's like signing TOS of a platform and then complaining when we r on the other end.
I am not a victim, I am an example of how the system works. Victim mentality can be changed with right educational material.
