Este año que estuvo cargado de muchas emociones, grandes logros y otras lamentables pérdidas está llegando a su fin y como todo año tiene que tener finales hermosos para toda temporada. Y para hacer el cuento corto, este año fui invitado por primera vez a tocar junto a la Sinfónica de Venezuela en su temporada n° 25 del ballet “El Cascanueces” de P. I. Tchaikovsky.
This year that was full of many emotions, great achievements and other unfortunate losses is coming to an end and as every year has to have beautiful endings for every season. And to make a long story short, this year I was invited for the first time to play with the Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra in its 25th season of the ballet "The Nutcracker" by P. I. Tchaikovsky.
La invitación vino de parte de un miembro de la orquesta, mi gran y querido amigo José Ponce, quien es el líder de la fila de los segundos violines, un gran violinista y mucha mejor persona.
The invitation came from a member of the orchestra, my great and dear friend José Ponce, who is the leader of the second violin row, a great violinist and a much better person.
Tuve algo de nerviosismo porque es un reto poder asumir esta gran obra en tan pocos ensayos (3), pero las ganas de hacerlo superaron al miedo y acepte la propuesta y me uní a la fila de los segundos violines por esta temporada navideña, un honor poder compartir con grandes maestros y excelentes músicos.
I had some nervousness because it is a challenge to take on this great work in so few rehearsals (3), but the desire to do it overcame the fear and I accepted the proposal and joined the second violins line for this Christmas season, an honor to share with great teachers and excellent musicians.
El reto mayor implicaba que no me chocaran los ensayos y conciertos con los de mi querida Sinfónica Ayacucho, por suerte pude arreglar para que no coincidiera ninguno. Al final me agendaron para media docena de funciones en los cuales, en cada función tuve un compañero distinto, todos de diferentes orquestas o jubilados de las mismas, tanto jóvenes de mi edad como personas que podrían ser mis padres.
The biggest challenge was to avoid clashing rehearsals and concerts with those of my beloved Ayacucho Symphony, luckily I was able to arrange so that none of them would coincide. In the end I was scheduled for half a dozen performances in which, in each performance I had a different companion, all from different orchestras or retired from them, both young people of my age and people who could be my parents.
Que emoción fu el poder participar en tanto la primera función de la temporada como en la última función, y eso que fueron 22 funciones en las cuales el público caraqueño disfruto del hermoso espectáculo que compuso el gran compositor ruso.
*** What a thrill it was to be able to participate in both the first performance of the season and the last performance, and that was 22 performances in which the Caracas public enjoyed the beautiful show composed by the great Russian composer.***
Por su puesto no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de tomar muestras visuales y de video de este bello espectáculo, bueno, desde donde podía verlo, ósea el foso. Pero aun así, tuve la dicha de reencontrarme con mucha gente querida y juntos hicimos música grandiosa y pude documentar un poco este gran espectáculo.
Of course I could not miss the opportunity to take visual and video samples of this beautiful show, well, from where I could see it, that is, the pit. But even so, I had the joy of meeting again with many dear people and together we made great music and I was able to document a little of this great show.
Afortunadamente mi economía me permitió regalarle una entrada a mi pro metida para que pudiera ver el espectáculo en la que fue una bella función. Que suerte fue para mí que este año pude coincidir con 3 grandes músicos y directores venezolanos, una la cual es la directora oficial de mi orquesta, la maestra Elisa Vegas.
Fortunately, my finances allowed me to give a ticket to my beloved so that she could see the show in what was a beautiful performance. How fortunate it was for me that this year I was able to coincide with 3 great Venezuelan musicians and conductors, one of whom is the official conductor of my orchestra, the maestra Elisa Vegas.
Pero este no fue el único gran evento del cual tuve el agrado de participar este mes de diciembre, pero sí puedo decir que fue la más mágica y llena de una belleza música y poética de gran altura.
But this was not the only great event in which I had the pleasure of participating this December, but I can say that it was the most magical and full of a beautiful music and poetry of great height.
Gratificante experiencia la de participar en un espectáculo musical-teatral tan hermoso como el de Cascanueces, que, como dices, es emblemático de la Navidad. Ilustras ampliamente tan emotiva expericia. Saludos, @fionoalejo.
Maravillosa experiencia y lo mejor es que te disfrutas todo con cariño y alegría. Como dices la navidad sin El Cascanueces es algo incompleta más cuando sabes que los tuyos han dado mucho para una interpretación excelente, este año tuve la oportunidad de ir a ver la presentación de valet donde dos sobrinitas participaban, algo realmente hermoso. "El cascanueces es mi ballet" favorito junto con "El lago de los cisnes" y mi escena favorita es la del hada de azúcar ¡Wow! ¡Qué honor que hayas estado presente ahí! Me alegra que lo hayas disfrutado, yo disfruto anualmente de este espectáculo pero por televisión.
