Amphawa Floating Market, live in a local hostel, watch the fireflies by boat

in #ocd4 years ago

At the second stop in Bangkok, we decided to visit Thailand's unique floating market! There are many floating markets in Thailand. This is a way of life for Thais. Just like our domestic market, but just moved stalls to rivers, and the stalls became boats!

We chose the Amphawa Floating Market, because it was said that there was not much development at that time, and that original feeling was exactly what I was seeking!

At the South Bus Station in Bangkok, there are minivans to Amphawa, about an hour's drive! When we arrived ,we saw boats full of vegetables and food, I was a little excited. I wanted to live here and integrate into the local life!

The snacks on board are mainly seafood, and many of them are cooked. You can eat them directly when you buy them, and the prices are super cheap. You bought a scallop and a prawn to fill your stomach!

We didn't make a reservation for the accommodation, but went directly to the local hostel, and the price will be cheaper than looking for it online! The entire street seems full of shops. But in fact, as long as you are willing to find, the homestay is hiding in the alley, and the local people's homes are also hiding in alleys.

The homestay where we lived was full of tropical style, the outside was full of green plants, and a whole bunch of coconuts! Only 350B a night, including breakfast! At that time, my bag was broken, and the hostess helped me to sew it, she was very nice ~

In the evening, we went to join the local firefly excursion, and there were people screaming "firefly" right by the river, 60B per person. The boat took us to a river a little further away from the town, where there was less light damage, and the fireflies could be seen more clearly.

I also understand that some people want to keep this moment, but the tour guide has repeatedly said not to turn on the flash. Some people are not obedient to turn on the flash or flashlight to illuminate the fireflies, which will hurt the fireflies and let them less and less! I hope that everyone will be civilized when they go to watch!

In addition to the stalls on the river, the floating market also has a variety of small stalls on the shore. The products of each stall are very colorful, and the foods looks delicious.

There is also this old CD shop, very nostalgic!

Late at night, tourists gradually go away and restore to the pure Amphawa ~

When we left, we saw a few people bathing and playing in the river. I thought that before being developed here, there should be more people playing in the river like they do! After all, Thailand is so hot, how enjoyable it is to soak in the water!
