1. Halar el pasador de seguridad que se encuentra en el extremo superior del Extintor,
2. Apuntar la Boquilla del extintor hacia la Base del Fuego,
3. Presionar la Palanca para esparcir el químico (Según el tipo de extintor CO2 o PQS), el Usuario debe ubicarse a una distancia aproximada de 2,5 metros del fuego, si se deja de oprimir la palanca, la descarga del extintor se detiene;
4. Esparcir la Boquilla de un lado a otro hacia la base del fuego.
