OCD DAILY - Issue #181
Welcome to the 181st issue of @OCD Daily!
Issue #181 highlights content from ten (10) Steemit Content Creators! The OCD team continues its search throughout Steemit to find you the undervalued gems, as provided by relatively new users.
Today our curators found you ten new pieces of original content! We strive to find works that are provided by newer Steemit users, that may not have the audience which their quality content deserves. @OCD strives to help provide that audience, and intends to showcase Steemit users who put in the extra effort to create creative, original content.
A curator will FIND a piece of work (typically from newer users). Within 24 hours that piece has been submitted from the curator to the @OCD team, votes are tallied, and the pieces with the most votes are placed into the compilation.
We encourage you to visit these blogs and to show these great Steemians your support and encouragement.
All of the content as chosen by our curators is undervalued, but there is always one piece that rises to the top. That piece is seen as universally appreciated and valued making it OCD’s Top Nomination of the Day.

When @heartscally first started teaching, the stress and time-consuming nature of the job was overwhelming. To improve her effectiveness as a teacher, Cally used a list of provocations shared here, including chatterboxes and mystery boxes, cover puzzles, and real-life simulations. Thanks for @jznsamuel for curating this inspiring and “provocative” post!

Next up is a DIY project curated by @wovenone that takes only two days to complete: a star ceiling! It's a little pricey ($325 US) but when you're done you'll have a fiber-optic star kit gracing your ceiling. How cool is that? After priming the ceiling, painting it a lovely deep blue, and drilling a few holes into the attic, you're ready to install stars! The creative post, showing you all the steps, was curated by @mk40.

“Cancer Day” is a story curated by @cabelindsay of a grandmother's fight, a fight she ultimately lost. Initially, the family couldn't even say the “C” word because once it's said out loud, there's no way back. Right before the author's wedding, her grandmother's surgery was scheduled. The surgery was successful and tests looked good, but the tumor came back and her grandmother declined rapidly. The takeaways @alyonavs gives us are so important: take care of yourself, fight, and never give up.

Next, we're introduced to two cartoon characters: Flea Bit and Tick Van Dyke. It's an original comic strip by a brand-new Steemian and a fabulous digital artist, @crittercrats – many thanks to @m31 for curating this post. Follow along as Flea Bit describes his unfortunate week!

@ma1neevent has found us another new Steemian! In Kevin Reed's introductory post, he shares with us that he's been an actor/bartender for about 15 years, though the photos he shares clearly aren't from his time behind a bar! He's also a creative writer, visual artist, and musician. Please stop by to welcome @kreed!

Next, check out this cool post on turning a piece of a skateboard into a ring! This self-described “sk8r boi,” known as @wolv on Steemit, has always enjoyed building things, especially out of wood. And we think his atttempt to craft a skateboard into this colorful ring is pretty amazing. Thanks to @saywha for curating this post!

Our modern life wouldn't be possible today without the simple transistor, and @johnesan gives us an informative history of how this invention came about. But beyond that, he covers the working principles and how a transistor is both similar to and different from its ancestor, the vacuum tube. Thanks to @jeanpi1908 for curating this entry!

In this post, curated by @gniksivart, we're shown some outtakes from one Steemian's day job involving a flower photography project. Keeping the flowers upright and the stems in place was challenging, as @jfolkmann explains but the final results are awesome! Really colorful, playful, and creative!

Have you ever wanted to try cliff diving? Here's your chance to experience it through a great post by @leodgreat! The water is gorgeous, both clear and blue at the same time, and his photos and video show the beauty of Siquijor. Absolutely breath-taking! (Also, that jump down is farther than it looks!)

And last but not least, this entry was found by @geke, introducing another new Steemian. Alain is a poet, competitive footballer, ex-musician, and a “catte owned” drifter. He feels a special call to the Steemit universe as he's found it to be an inclusive community. We hope you'll welcome @carmalain7 to our platform!

We hope you were able to take away something different, fresh, and new from these content posts, as provided by the @ocd curators.
