OCD DAILY - Issue #316

Welcome to the 316th issue of @OCD Daily!

Issue #316 highlights content from ten (10) Steem Content Creators! The OCD team continues its search throughout Steem to find you the undervalued gems, as provided by relatively new users.

Today our curators found ten (10) new pieces of original content! We strive to find works that are created by newer Steem users, that may not have the audience with which to share their quality content. @OCD strives to help provide that audience and intends to showcase Steem users who put in the extra effort to create creative, original content.

The @OCD nomination process

A curator will FIND a piece of work (typically from newer users). Within 24 hours that piece has been submitted from the curator to the @OCD team, curator votes are tallied, and the pieces with the most votes are included in the compilation.

We encourage you to visit these blogs and show these great Steemians your support and encouragement.

If you enjoyed their work, give them a Follow or maybe even say Hello!

All of the content chosen by our curators is undervalued, but there is always one piece that rises to the top. That piece is universally appreciated and valued by our curators making it OCD’s Top Nomination of the Day.

Our top nomination of the day is from @evilhippie

@evilhippie presents a beautiful post of a lovely hand-made viking-themed necklace, complete with process of the creation and a really personable narration to accompany the post. To me, it is amazing that he came up with the king’s braid by linking all those chains one by one. What dedication and artistry! I love the necklace, of course, but I think this post also deserves a little applaud for the way the jewellery is encased and presented for his customer  That handmade wooden box really frames the article wonderfully, and such attention to details are what would make a craftsperson’s shop and trade stand out to succeed, don’t you think?

Check out the post through the link below to see @evilhippie’s full post!

Our next nomination of the day is from @ryo-6414

@ryo-6414 is taking us on a visit to see wisteria flower at a local temple in Japan. Wisteria flowers are blooming in Japan along with sakura (cherry blossom) and throughout the temple, you can see these beautiful flowers displayed everywhere. Interesting fact is the age of the purple wisteria flowers at the temple is over 600 years old! It was there when the temple was built back in 1466. Apart from admiring the flowers, @ryo-6414 also showed us some of the statues at the temple and surroundings.

Our next nomination of the day is from @direwolfslair

@direwolfslair is a brand new Steemian who joined Steem few months ago. In their blog they plan to share their original photography, digital art, game art, and illustration exclusive to Steem. As their introduction they share a story and a photography of the dancing fairies from Zadar. Why the dancing fairies? This photography reminded the author of of the painting “Dancing Fairies” (Swedish: Älvalek) by the Swedish painter August Malmström. Perhaps, the little girls dancing actually were the mountain fairies since Zadar, Croatia is quite mountainous? Truly fascinating story!

Our next nomination of the day is from @carlgnash

While most people on Steem know of @carlgnash, sometimes his posts are way over the top on the excellence scale and deserve to be seen by the masses more than anything you see that day, or even that week. This is one of those times. Having recently relocated to Utah, Carl takes his family out to explore Goblin Valley, and is nice enough to bring us all along with him on the journey to an other worldly looking place.

Our next nomination of the day is from @joshman

Now we have a great Tour of Madrid,Spain by @joshman. He says it’s only day five but the post shows a lot of places he went walking. For most of us it could take us 5 days to visit all those places. No wonder why his timeline if filled up with actifit posts. He also shares great pic of his tour.

Our next nomination of the day is from @anaerwu

@anaerwu takes a look at some of the sad beards of the world through different movies and tv shows starting off with the poor beard of desperation Benedict Cumberpatch had in Doctor Strange and ending with how it can be used for comedic effect such as a show like How I Met Your Mother.

Our next nomination of the day is from @for91days

In the western world some people would find it cool to make their own leather bag in their backyard, but in Ghana is the hard reality, that is not so cool as you would expect. @for91days is a curator and a travel bloger here on steemit who always stays 91 in one place and then goes on for the next destination. At the moment he is in Ghana and today he shares with us some impresions he made when visiting a leather "factory" in the village of Zongo.

Our next nomination of the day is from @marieeedraw

Steemian @marieeedraws made a drawing from Justin Bieber - and described the process for us! She used different pencils, mapping out the face, filling the countours out later and making the drawing POP with some fierce yellow at the end. Is it just me or does Bieber look like Ned in the last image of this post?

Our final nomination of the day is from @lymepoet

A thing called love (Johnny Cash) life… Written from heart, motivational, yet again not so much, with a bitter truth in the end - troubles we all face these days in everyday life in one way or another - and yet there is more to come.
