I think what I have realized is that the 'Dunning - Krugger Effect' is real, many people after the reading they did in school, have this illusion that they have it all figured out, there is nothing more to learn, trying to even convince them there is more in the world is just a total waste of time.
Books to me at first were escapes, they helped me go through rough times. They were the source of light amidst all the darkness surrounding me and in a way an indirect guide through it all. They will always be my go-to sources of knowledge.
Currently reading Thinking in Physics - The Pleasure of Reasoning and Understanding by Vennot L.
Hey! I totally understand what you are saying. Many people believe they learned enough in school and are eager to get a job and make money. And then it is done. No more reading, no more studying. And then they wonder why life is hard. Without the habit of self education it will always be hard for those people.
Books always helped and always will. There is great comfort and reward in reading other people and seing that the power of the mind is extraordinary.
I will check the book, thank you for reading!
