Discrimination of age and ethnicity is common in certain fields, but this one really confuses me. Why would a clothing store not hire someone slightly over 30? Is it more of a Philippines thing? If yes, why?

Yes, there is a big problem here in the Philippines especially in Malls and I don't know why? There are some politicians wanted to make a law against that and even end of contract. Still optimistic in this experience. Anyways, thanks for your thoughts 😉
Even if there is a law against it, the prejudice of people will not change easily. So you're probably better of finding an employer that is more accepting.
