I thought most large stakeholders agreed that a part of the rewards pool should go to users driving traffic to our front ends and the posts being used to accomplish that.
The actual self funding is rather small (servers, maintenance, etc), our liquidation program @nomnomnomnom has caught up to its powerdown recently so it won't need much vote funding any longer, that was the main reason for the larger votes the past couple months on poshtoken posts and comments. Excess voting power will be directed back to hbd.funder or buildawhale after this.
If however more and more users start sharing posts well and it continues to drive traffic to our ecosystem, i think it can only do good for hive and more author rewards should be spent on that over time. Something I believe most agree with.
Judging by how often I hear it brought up in a negative light not sure I’d say most. In fact never heard s single person mentioning they liking it.
The way it is done now is bizarre and doesn’t make any sense as a third party observer. I see a comment for $65+ for sharing a link, I have no real idea where it actually goes. Is it going to the person sharing the link, the author, a slush fund for the program. No idea how vote accordingly. It also decided by you not by community voting like the spirit of Hive.
