“20 children cannot be together for 20 years.” I never really understood what it meant until I finished secondary school. It was then I realized that we can never be together forever.
We finished secondary school, lot of things changed about me, my other classmates had also changed. We were no longer in the same area, we no longer had the same teachers and we no longer shared the same experiences. We were now a part of different grades, different classes and different institutions. We were no longer together.
Life keeps moving forward. People will eventually grow old and die, and new people will come into our lives. This proverb is often used to remind people that they should not get too attached to anyone or anything, because everything is temporary.
Of course, we all want to believe that we can defy the odds and be together forever. But the truth is, sometimes things don't work out the way we want them to. And when they don't, it's heartbreaking.
Sadly, even if you do everything right, the proverb will still come to pass in some cases. For example, if there are truly twenty Friends, out of those 20 children, some might die before they reach the 20-year mark. No matter how hard you try, some things are just out of your control.
Relationships are not meant to last forever and you should never take them for granted. Be it family, friends, partners, brother, sister or parents. There will be separation one day.
People always talk about how it is important to stay together with our loved ones for a long time. They quote famous lines like 'friends that prays together, stays together'. But the truth is, it is impossible for people to stay together for a long time. In fact, it is more painful when we are separated from our loved ones. But such is life.
Even though it may be hard, we must remember that time heals all wounds. We must also remember that we are not the only ones who are hurting. Our friends and family also miss us and want us to come back home. So, even though we may not be able to be together right now, let us keep our hearts open and know that one day we will be reunited.
However, we should not lose hope. Just because we are apart from them for now does not mean we will be forever. There are countless stories of people who have been able to reunite after many years of being apart. So, don’t give up on your loved ones. Keep hoping and praying that you will be able to be together again one day.
