Politics:

Arizona GOP Goes Full Fringe

As the party hardens around its fealty to former President Donald Trump, the GOP is filling up its midterm ballot with a roster of conspiracy theorists and extremists that could threaten the party’s prospects in a state that’s drifted leftward in recent elections.
The latest of those candidates is Ron Watkins, a celebrity in the QAnon conspiracy world suspected of being Q, who announced his plans to run for Congress last week.
It isn’t just that Watkins embraces the baseless claim that the November election was stolen. It’s that an entire ticket is running on that falsehood now.

Well, as the song says, You can’t always get what you want.

I urged Republicans to stay. Now, months later, I'm leaving the party. Here's why

I had hoped that decent people working from the inside could save the Republican Party from those who believe the Big Lie. I was wrong.

Republicans Set to Block Voting Bill Again

Senate Republicans were expected again on Wednesday to block action on voting rights legislation, intensifying calls by activists and lawmakers for Democrats to finally do away with the filibuster or find themselves at a steep disadvantage in next year’s midterm elections and into the future.
For the third time this year, Republicans were poised to use the procedural weapon to thwart an attempt by Democrats to ensure access to the ballot box and counteract a raft of G.O.P.-written state laws around the country imposing new election restrictions.
Said Sen. Angus King (I-ME): “When we are talking about the fundamental operation of democracy, I have to think a Senate rule will have to be modified or give way.”

Trump Organization Faces New Criminal Inquiry

Former President Donald Trump’s family business, which is already under indictment in Manhattan, is facing a criminal investigation by another prosecutor’s office that has begun to examine financial dealings at a golf course the company owns.
In recent months, the district attorney’s office in suburban Westchester County, NY, has subpoenaed records from the course, Trump National Golf Club Westchester, and the town of Ossining, which sets property taxes on the course, a sprawling private club that is perched on a hill north of New York City and boasts a 101-foot waterfall.

As far as the carbon tax crisis...

Even if it's all a hoax it doesn't mean that pollution isn't a serious issue that we should have solved already.
Everything about this world is totally unsustainable.

At the same time: taxes are obviously not the answer so... no solutions, only problems.

I hear ya bro. Too much is not sustainable, but a few things are, or used to be. Nearly ALL big corporate efforts are for short term profits right now, because they know this paradigm is short lived. Sustainability is a circle, one point feeds the next and should all be connected. Old style farmers knew this and by now, we should have it perfected but it's not. 🤷‍♂️

I prefer the modern debate style 😁
