Playing with AI art - Let's play with the Star of the Show

AI

How about a focal point in the background and a neighbourhood in the foreground? Let's see if we can trick AI into playing with the elements that would usually be in a background, on the front. Since it clearly hit a sore spot when I did the North Laines test. I can also see that Pepper Pot is Cartoon and Fantasy 3D's dream of turning it into a castle and sticking Rapunzel into it, but we shall wager our odds.

It's added some dimension, not really a fan of the pops of colour, but to be fair, I didn't ask for bright. Other than the trees that seem to be going up in a forest fire behind Pepper Pot, intriguing layer or makes no sense?

Now we've got some more colour dimension and that added sketch effect. Does it look like we're in Pleasantville, though?

Congratulations Cartoon, you survived the castle test :) It's rounded all the edges, as Cartoon was expected to do and brought back it's fave pink, purple and muted yellow colour story.

Asked it to add graffiti, but it's so minimal on the walls, I can barely see it. Wondering why it's leaving Pepper Pot completely untouched and clean, almost like it's a sacred religious monument. And it sure likes red cars.....

Now we're getting somewhere! This one is definitely my fave of the bunch, apparently if you ask it to add even more colour, it will clock it to actually do it, shall we see if adding people might make it more of a vibe?

Definitely going more of the urban route and making traction with the brighter coloured graffiti on the walls, but where's the people on the streets making it a cool party? I don't see one person on that street.

Ok, so not a fan of people, eh? And apparently when you ask it to actually add more people, it will just add a suped up yellow car that belongs in some sort of superhero movie. And is that a cork sewage cover on the street or a place mat?

A bit cold, but that's expected when you take away almost all the colour. How it decides to keep some of the colour, I'll never know. But it did hit the brief of the sketch. Just wished it would add more detail with the sketching to make up for the lack of colour highlights.

Conclusion

So it does look like choosing a photo with a main focal point in the background does help a bit, because it won't just focus on the one element at the front of the image. But is it enough? And why won't it add people when it's asked over and over again? Also thought it would be easier to turn a street scene into an urban city feel, but it hasn't really used the elements in it's favour. Not a total loss though, I think we managed to come out with a spicy one!

Maybe it thinks cars are people too! Maybe use the words men and women instead?

well in the current state of the world and AI maybe cars will be people....but good idea, talking to the AI is deffo a skill!
