You must have used BitTorrent to share files using P2P protocol, quite similarly Open Bazaar is a concept to create a decentralized marketplace. It is an open source project which is focused on developing a protocol for online transactions in a decentralized marketplace. It uses bitcoin and is based on or a modified and next version of DarkMarket (A proof of concept that won the $20k first prize in Toronto hackathon)
Open Bazaar is a P2P network that is not controlled by any company. Instead of visiting a website like Amazon, eBay, Flipkart etc, you can install an application on your computer that will directly connect you to other people looking to buy and sell goods and services, and the only payment option is bitcoin. Basically, you can download the software and install it post which you can build your own online store to sell goods and services. Just like BitTorrent, few machines upload and some others download the same stuff; here you can buy or sell.
