A song about self-acceptance
"I Walk in Beauty" reminds me to respect and embrace the full spectrum of who I am. This includes my body, heart, mind, soul, and spirit. This includes my thoughts, feelings, hopes, and dreams. The song came to me on the day after Christmas this year when I was walking around in the woods, wondering what to do with my energy.
That day, as I walked, singing some songs I knew from the Native American Church, I found a deer skeleton. This was a buck, with four antler tips on each side. I gave the deer a name: Rainbow, and sang him a song. And then I lifted the skull because I felt inspired to mount it, and honor his life in a good way. When I continued my walk, this sweet melody came to mind and the words formed as if theyโre being spoken from the deer.
For me this message is about the choice to show up and shine in life, like a warrior of the light, being a human beam, a sovereign child of the star nation... When I say "I walk in beauty," Iโm not talking about long eyelashes and lipstick; no, Iโm talking about genuine grace.

An early morning moment of inspiration
A few nights ago I woke up before 4 a.m. and it felt like my energy wanted to be outside by the fire. So I walked out in the dark, lit a fire, listened, and sang some songs. I took this opportunity to share this specific song, speaking to our "Infinity" theme.
One line in the song says, "I am the endless mountain range." To me, this is a vision of the vastness of the earth / space / spirit. In my youth when I lived in Wyoming I did a lot of hiking in the mountains and it happened many times when I reached a peek and then an entirely different peak would present itself, higher and higher. I like to wonder about the mountains, imagining their endlessness.
