Thanks to everyone who entered and supported Open Mic Week 40. Community support for Open Mic has been tremendous and is one of many projects bringing the music community together on Steemit.

This week broke a record on Steemit Open Mic for the most entries (over 80) thanks to all of you helping promote and support this project.

ALSO PLEASE REMEMBER TO SAY OPEN MIC WEEK 41 AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR VIDEO ON NEXT WEEKS ENTRIES If you don't say that you will not qualify for rewards (other than what your post makes) for this contest. Very important. Some of you would have won the last few weeks if you would just remember to say those words at the beginning of your video.

Steemit Open Mic is not about winning or losing, it's about building a connection on Steemit through music. Watching the collaboration happen online between musicians who played and met on Steemit Open Mic is very rewarding and many of the people who play and post earn some nice rewards for playing a song.

For many, it's easier to get some Steem in your tip jar by playing for Steemit Open Mic than it is to play music on the street.

This week is a new record again for number of entries and the talent keeps getting better. You guys are awesome and making it harder to choose winners. It also seems like some of you are earning some good payouts for your posts which is great. Makes me so happy to see that.

This Open Mic may be the best contest/challenge type event on Steemit.
Not only is it great for the musicians but it brings a lot of people together in real ways and I feel has a LOT of potential to bring in a lot more users and a LOT more attention to the Steemit Platform.
I am stoked to see so many entries and especially the growing amount of entries and engagement.
Though there was over a hundred entries and there are less than 100 up votes on this post. I sure hope it gets a lot more support. I mean 300 was paid out just in prizes alone and the post is only sitting at $78.
I am going to make it a priority to help get this more exposure and support.
Thanks for starting, sticking with and helping flourish this event. I feel it has great value~
