Yup, but on 9/11 they used a drone US NAVY A3-Skywarrior which was launched from the US NAVY carrier the USS George Washington off the East Coast south of Miami, and impacted the Office Of Naval Intelligence inside the pentagon (which had finished renovations the day prior which used explosives planted in the walls instead of reinforced kevlar).
